Colloquy courses are designed to plan and prepare for the work of the Preaching Ministry Project and the academic writing required by the program. Students, peers, advisors, and faculty work collaboratively to focus on the scope of the project and to create a Learning Covenant. Research methodology is featured in all three colloquies.
Core course faculty, elective course faculty, and peers each evaluate a video of the participants’ sermon preached after the residency in the participants’ ministry context (a total of three sermons). Evaluations focus on the integration of course learning with the specific local ministry-site preaching. With each videotape, participants submit a Reflection Paper describing the goals of the sermon and a paper from a group of ministry members outlining their views and evaluation of the sermon.
